302ci Dipstick hole.....

Have a '74 302 ci with the dipstick hole up front in the timing cover. The block also has one in it.

For the sake of not using 2 dipsticks, what is a safe way to seal up that hole in the block?

Any thoughts or ideas.......

I threaded the hole in the block and sealed it with an allen headed plug.

No leaks and nice looking to boot.

I used the appropriate size freeze plug in the block hole. Was told by local shops that was what they did. Good luck, Earl

Freeze plug. Make sure it's in there good or you'll have an oil spray leak that's really hard to find...especially if you have no idea there's a dipstick hole there in the first place.
