Jeff ~ not sure about the driving shoes although I typically just wore a comfortable pair of boat shoes or something that I could slip off while driving if my feet got too hot.

I just took a peak at your photo gallery.........awesome car!! Who built your motor??

I bought a pair of G-force shoes. Didn't cost a lot of money and they turned out to be real comfortable. Not sure if you want to spend lots of money or get a good pair. You can spend lots and get good or not and get good. Tried on a pair that cost $300 and didn't like them. Mine cost $60 and I do like them.
Good luck in your quest.
You do have a real nice car. Great motor.

James, thank you for your input on footware.

The old guy is on the hunt for the skinny footwear.

My problem is that left foot is 10-1/2, right is 11, both 3EEE.

I have feet like a duck. I can walk on snow.

I take my right shoe off to drive Gunrack.

So does Sweetness, so does BH and the few others that drive her.

There ain't much room in the footwell in a Backdraft.

With shoes on when the right foot goes DOWN it tags brake AND throttle. Bad combination.

Those Adidas are out there. I will find them.

Take one shoe off to drive your car? Embarrassing.

Hi all

I have tried boxing boots etc.

The cheapest and the best so far are the Puma shoes with the car type sole. They cost me $55 in Costa Mesa Cal. They are blue with a small Puma on the toe and the white stripe.

Very light, thin and comfortable. You can feel the pedals very easily.

Cheers

Bernie

simpson makes a grate pair of shoes which I use when I plan some spirited driving on the local mountain roads.

Also check your peddel adjustment on the gas and break. I adjusted my gas pedel upwards and it made it more difficult to drive with regular shoes but easer to heal & toe for better shifting.

I have Piloti, Minnetakka moccasins, ankle high Simpsons, H.S. Trask buffalo driving shoes, various boat shoes, original thin soled Pumas...

Pure driving...you can't beat the Simpsons.

For autoX which involves standing all day and shagging cones...either the Pilotis or the Pumas.

Best all around...really dirty stinky stretched out boat shoes.

Uncltodd, Why haven't you adjusted your pedals??? I have 4EEEE shoes and would never have room with Backdraft standard placement. You can easily remove the brake pedal and adjust it closer to the clutch pedal, you can even adjust the clutch pedal. I have room to drive with New Balance cross training shoes (and they are wide). There is no need to drive with one shoe off.
