Default Glove Box

Hi,

I am trying to configure my glove box door and I am ashamed to say.... baffled. I have two doors from E-M that are both larger than the dash opening and the other is lsightly smaller than the opening. My problem comes when I try to make some sort of hinge or fulcrum on the bottom. The glove box itself bolts on the backside of the dash and is fiberglass.
Does anyone out there have any really good ideas or pictures that may help me get my s... straight. It seems like this thing is kicking my butt worse than many of the more difficult tasks. I would most definitely appreciate any help and/or pictures anyone can provide.

Thanks

Chris

I bought a piano hinge and cut a 6" piece for the glove box door. I used an epoxy (PC-7) to build up a thick layer on the inside lip of the glove box and screwed the piano hinge into that.

I built my own from sheet metal. The door uses a couple hinges I got at a woodworker's store. I had to cut a couple small spacers from aluminum stock so they would clear the dash opening. This was taken before the inside was covered.

Here is it closed

Like Roscoe I used a piece of piano hinge for my EM glovebox. I screwed/ bolted it to the door and then it is simply pinched between the back of the dashboard and the glovebox itself. I have a wood veneer dash so the spine of the hinge is visable but its chrome and looks OK. I have a picture of the dash in my gallery but it probably doesn't show much detail.
