We have had nothing but trouble with the McLeod. And yes we had pedal stops on the four units that failed! I just installed a Tilton in John Touts. aluminum Superformance Cobra ,and it has been working great. It has no banjo fittings to leak, and it bolts into the bellhousing, not on the candle stick (throw out bearing slide on the front of the trans.) like the McLoud. You can check the operation of the unit before you install the transmission. I will use this type from now on. Call me if you need a part number.(513) 738-5001. Hope this helps.

And my McLeod unit has never failed WITHOUT a pedal stop. The banjo fittings have been up-graded also.

cbnus Have you looked into Keisler thrownout bearing? They are at www.keislerauto.com. There is no bleeding needed to be done on this setup. Titlon is the other, You also need to have a pedal stop in your car or you will over extend it and have problems. Make sure that the supply line is bolted down or that will get pulled into the clutch assembly and ripped up. Rick Lake

Yes, I believe the single most important thing on a HTOB is a positive stop on the pedal.

I put a positive stop on my setup and I do not use a HTOB.

I've got a Tilton bearing with over 23k miles on it. Also, Lakewood housing, centerforce dual friction clutch and tremec 3550.

Never had a problem.
