Angry Help! Tranny Stuck in 4th Gear!

Now I've gone and done it. I was tootin' along on the freeway coming home and the rode was way clear in front, so I downshift into 4th and punch it to about 5k rpm/'110 mph and do a semi fast shift to 5th on my Tremec 5 speed. Surprise, surprise. My SPF 1735 is now totally stuck in 4th gear and won't come out of 4th gear, no matter what I do topside with the clutch disengagement and pulling left, right, up, down on the shifter. Needless to say, I made it home after surviving the gauntlet on the Bay Bridge and running most stop signs on the way home to my garage.

If this has happened to any of you out there, do you have any suggestions short of pulling the tranny out of the car and pulling it apart?? Need help.

Bill

We have just pulled my trans out due to the roller pin in 3rd/4th breaking. Short of pulling your trans you can take the tunnel off. There are two inspection covers you can take off the top to see iff the shift rods are moving. The inspection plate closet to the shifter is where it most likely locked up if not the shifter itself. I'm assuming you have a tremec or tko trans. I'm hoping you didn't go passed the syncro which means pulling the trans which is no fun. If you have the tunnel off you can pull trans without pulling engine and or taking bell housing off. Super Jeff that pulled mine did it that way. Good luck
