Default pin drive lugs- which Loctite to use?

Vintage Wheels recommends using red loctite on the wheels studs when installing the adapters.

However I already had problems not to round off the nuts with the allen wrench during installation, so what happens if you use red Loctite and have to change the rotors or brake pads? A saws-all may become necessary, then new adapters maybe too
At the very least you'll need new lug nuts.

I used a low strength threadlocker for now (Loctite 222), and the lug nuts still can be loosened, however i don't think they will several times without distorting.

I thought about trying a medium strength threadlocker, this way the nuts should be removeable (at least one time) and it will provide more savety then a low strength thread locking compound.

What do you think? And what kind of threadlocker do you use for the pin drive lugs?

No way on earth would i use RED Loctite.I just lubed mine and tightened them up.(down).Never had a issue with them loosening.

Personally , I would use Red Loctite if the brake pads didn't require removing the adapter. The bond can be broken fairly easily with the heat from a propane torch.

Before I applied the Loctite though, I would make sure the wheel fit was perfect while all the lugs were installed but not completely tightened. Then remove one nut at a time to apply the Loctite, tightening to about 70% of the torque spec. Finally, when all the lugs are installed, torque to spec.
