Default Nut and Bolt Source

As I go through my build I am finding a few bolts that I would like to have that do not seem available through regular sources, ( hardware store, autoparts store). Things like a polished 5/16 18 allen head bolt 7 inches long.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good online fastener resource thats lets you buy individual pieces?

Thanks,

Aaron

believe it or not, I purchased most of my bolts from Lowe's, they have a very large assortment of specialty nuts and bolts, the rest I found at my local auto parts store

If you have an Ace Hardware store around you can usually find what you need. They also have a great selection of all kinds of gadgets in their little plastic boxes - metric nuts & bolts, electrical brushes, unusual fasteners,
just about anything. If they have that here in Hawaii, they usually have a
better selection on the mainland.

Aaron: Let your fingers to the walking. Check your Yellow Pages for a local Industrial fastener or nut-and-bolt supplier. I find one of these stores to be the best way to get fasteners in any size, type or finish.

Ditto on Bolt Depot. They have a pretty good selection and you can purchase in any quantity. Good quick service too.

I used a local fastner supply company and bought all stainless industrial bolts.I filed and polished all of them by filing and polishing using my drill press,a file and some 800 grit and 1000 grit paper. Did not take long and was able to get all the sizes I needed.Depends on how much work you want to do.
