Engine compartment footbox insulation

Getting time to think about footbox insulation. I'm using fiberglass footboxes and would like to insulate the engine compartment side of the boxes. Especially from the heat of the headers.
Does anyone know what Shelby uses on their boxes. See image.

I don't know what Shelby uses, but I do know that Jegs and Summit Racing sell a fiber with aluminum backing, that has glue already on it, it is supposed to insulate and reflect most of the heat, I used an insulating mat under my carpet, it insulates the heat and noise, I bought it from JC Whitney, I also used the stick on stuff from Jegs to insulate my brake lines near the headers and also my master cylinders, if you look at my pictures you can see the mat I used, it is the same stuff I used to insulate the hood

It looks like Thermo-Tec adhesive backed insulating liner. You can get it at Jeg's. That's what I used. It comes in a roll which you can cut to shape. It has a wax paper backing that is peeled off to expose the adhesive and you can just press it on. Seems to work ok, but it's not very thick - mostly a reflective shield vs actual insulation. I've also notice that in spots where it's very close to the headers, it will peel back if there's any seams there. Best bet would probably be this on the engine compartment side, and then some of the thicker insulating mats under the carpet on the inside.

Interesting though that when it's 98 degrees out, and 98 % hummidity, that none of this stuff seems to work. Maybe if you put a big tray of ice water in the foot box for your feet to sit in

Yep, I plan on putting in Dynamat or Fatmat inside.
Main thing I wanted to do was protect the fiberglass from header heat.
How about a small dorm refrigerator as a footbox.

There is an spray on product called Lizzard skin--ceramic space age stuff--very effective--easy to apply

Superformance uses a polished stainless steel plate about .040" thick. The plate is mounted about .125" away from the fiberglass foot boxes using spacers as a stand off. This heatshield keeps the heat from migrating through to the footbox. I have never had a footbox heat issue in 3 years of ownership with this setup.
