Default Rear end "clunk"?

The past two times I've had the Cobra out, I have been feeling a clunk from the rear end. I put it up on the lift and nothing is loose. It seems to only happen when I am turning from a stop (like pulling out of a parking space).

It feels just like a Detriot Locker (for those of you familar with them) locking and unlocking. I don't mind if it's normal, but I have never felt this before. I don't know if my rear just loosened up (i.e. "broke in") or something is actually wrong with it.

Does anyone else with the Salsbury/Jag rear get this?

Default Noise

Hi,
I have had 2 axle bearings fail , it seems they don't like lots of torque
There is no way in the housing to really check them so I would pull the axles and check them.
Mine sounded like a several loud metalic clicks/hammer blows on a slow right turn.
good Luck,
Perry

Mine will clunk also, especially when starting from a stop and making a tight turn. I believe it's the limit clutches slipping.....sounds like a clanking bell.

Assuming it's not a mechanical problem just add some of this to the diff fluid.

Default noise in rear wheel assbly

Sal, I have some noise from rear wheel area, but I believe it comes from the pin drive wheels rather than from the diff. That said, the salsbury and most other diffs should NOT be run run without friction modifiers. Jim

Sal if you are hearing this when backing up and turning check for clearance between the outer yolk on the axle and the coil spring.
