I went the other way (what's new?)
I removed the 3rd u-joint in my steering shaft and discovered a new car! With only two u-joints the steering became more precise and responsive. It's great.
There was also a vibration that I had not noticed before.
Close examination revealed a front tire that had got flatspotted at Gainesville
New front tires made it perfect again.
The old setup hid the symptom.
My point is, if there's a vibration, maybe there's a reason
