Largest Width Rear Tires
What are the largest width rear tires you guys have on a cobra out there? Tell maker, and all size info. If you are in the above 12 inch width include pictures and tell whose kit they are on. And if you had to make modifications to place the wider tires. Thanks, I just love big wide rear tires and pictures. I guess I am curious which kits allow for the widest rear tires.

My ERA is fitted with 315/35/17's in the rear and I understand they can go out to 335's without interference.

That's not bad, ERA is of course top notch in my book. Anybody beat a 335? Surely there is someone out there in the 375-400 range?

I'm running 315/35/17 Mickey Thompson DOT ET drag radials, on 10" wheels. They fill the wheel wells great! I yank the front tires every time I take it out too. well.... almost every time.

Stuck with 16" dia wheels (for now) but
the tire section width is 14.2" wide, tread width is 12.4". I believe the section width in mm is greater than 335s. I am running Good Year GT / Trans AM Rain Tires on three piece Compomotive wheels. The offset has to be right on! My car is an ERA.

Just for comparison purposes, the 2009 ZR1 Corvette:
Speedline forged aluminum-alloy wheels:
Front: 10.0 by 19 ", Michelin PS2 285/30
Rear: 12.0 by 20 " , Michelin PS2 335/25

335/35-17s. Midstates had a wide tire body option that was simply the inside half of the front wheelwell cut out, and a 'bubble' was re-glassed in. It would be easy replicate the same thing on most if needed with the fiberglass tub cockpit, just by cutting the inner half out, moving 2-3" towards center, and 'glassing back.

I have the Michelin 335/35 17 on my SPF. My wheels are PSE 11.5" width. They fit with no problem.

I am not trying to steal this thread but what size tires are you running on the front. I have 16" compomotive wheels that my tire guy could not find the correct size tires for the rims. To get the correct size tires I had to by new 17" rims. I am not a big dia rim guy and there is a visual differance between 16 " & 17" rims. I went with CS/ american racing tork thruster chrome rims and I just not 100% happy with the look. I would like to go back to the 16" Comp's and bigger tires.
Thanks in advance.

I have a Unique 289 FIA that I am just finishing.
On the rear:
315x35/17" BFG G-Force Radials on a 3 piece Compomotive 12.5 knock off wheel
It is putting down 12.5" of rubber on the ground
On the front:
275x40/17" BFG G-Force Radials on a 3 piece Compomotive 9.5" knock off wheel
As you can see they fit nicely with no interference.

27.0 x 13 goodyear slicks on bennett cobra. Rims are bennett centers with jonblod, spelling?, hats. You order insde and outside hats to get width and offset you want.Very light rims but strong. Jonblod makes wheels for indy cars and sports cars. Centers are hilibrand pattern and hats can be 15" 16" 17", I used 16". Do not know how to post pictures, rear end apart anyway, Independent 9" ford center section solid shafts with 930 cv joints each end. Twisted one axel and repairing.

I'm running 325/50-15 MT drag radials on custom modified 10.5" (one inch inner half stretch) Trigos. More pics in gallery. This is the max 15" diam tire size that will fit under a Superformance.

Those tires are very cool. This may be a stupid question but are they street legal? If you dont mind me asking, how much did the modifications to the wheels set you back?

Do you have website or anything to check out the wheels and ordering them?

I am in the process of having the wheels widened at Stockton Wheel to a 12.5" width, I am planning on running the Michelin PS2's or the Hoosier tires, waiting for the wheels before I select the tires. The inner wheel wells on the SPF is being widened (tubbed) by RED in reno, I will be running 335X35 17's on the rear, no modifications for the front. Not much of a selection in tires that size, but I am running the PS2s on my Porsche and like them. Concern with the Hoosier tires on running them on the street, not concerned about wear, just the safety and legality of running a track tire on the street.
