Default Tach location

I finally got by baby on the road a couploe of days ago & noticed that I cannot see the tach very well. The steering wheel, combined with my seat moved all the way forward, causes an obstuction. I was thinking about swaping the tach & speedo. Even though the speedo is further away, I can SEE it!

Default Another Solution

That's the main reason I put in a quick-release steering hub. When I drive I do not have my steering wheel aligned "perfectly straight" as it hinders my view of the gauges (I have it off by about 75 degrees or so). With a QR hub, changing the alignment of your steering wheel takes about two seconds. There's some other added benefits to having it as well, but if you think that might do the trick I'd recommend you go with that. Here's a shot:

I simply (well OK, it wasn't THAT 'simple') swapped the speedo and tach locations. I focus more on the tach and occasionally check the speedo reading. I know how fast I'm going based on rpm.

Can you rotate the tach enough to make the portion you most need to see visible?

I shift by ear! Its a lot easier and safer looking at the road at all times.

Oh yeah, nothing to that little job at all. I'd rather put in a QR hub, at least you're working in front of you while sitting down instead of lying on your back upside down with your head jammed in a foot box....

I only drove my car briefly the other day, I have no plates yet. I need to check this out more closely. I will not be tracking the car, but I do want to know when I am getting up on the scale where I am in revolutions. I will be in her this Monday & I will see. Thanks for all the input!
