don't know about your loose feeling, but you can always upgrade the look:

I had a set of custom billet pedal covers made for the Wilwood assembly and custom gas pedal; brushed anti-slip with domed grip inserts. Remove your old rubber covers, drill two holes, and screw in. Looks like the offer '88 mustang pedals.
