Default Lexan Sun Visor????

I recently cracked my Plexiglas sun visor. I was thinking of cutting a new pair from lexan? Maybe even make them a little larger than stock.

Anyone make their own out of lexan?

Know of any good places to buy tinted lexan? I heard tinting clear lexan is not a good idea....something about it gassing out.

Thanks

I just had a new set of wind wings made up at a local plastic fabricator that cost me $13.00 a piece. Exact form match and they even countersunk the mounting holes. A very nice job. Talked to them about doing my sun visors down the line and they said no problem.
Just about any plastic fabricator worth their salt should be able to make a set up for you at a very reasonable price.

I had both windwings made for $25.00 at the local plastics place (Tap Plastics). Too bad I already cracked one. My fault, at least it was not my windshield.

Default Broken Sun Visor Bracket

I have a set of tinted sun visors on my Classic motorcoach cobra. One of the brackets (hinge) that attaches it to the tab on the windshield broke. My uncle (machinist says its chromed bronze). Anyone know where I can get a replacement? I attached a couple of pictures, one of the broken one, one that's not... I'm a rookie poster, hopefully you can see them.

Thanks, Jimmythewire

My guess is that it's chromed brass, not bronze.

Have your uncle machine new ones out of stainless steel.

Thanks. I should have mentioned 'retired machinist' he's pushing 80. I could go the remanufacture route, but I was hoping someone might know where to buy them.

You probably need to buy a new set. They come with two widths of mounting plates and all SST.
