We have had good success with Line-X and rhino liner. These are both good pickup bedliner materials. The rhino liner is the softer of the two. Most of the bedliner places would be willing to do your fender wells. You can get it from the paint store, and brush it in, but it is hard to work. Bill Emerson EMS

Post Wheel well protection.

Bill,

I used a spray-on truck bed liner I purchased at Discount Auto. It looks great and does a great job at covering any overspray. Because it has a texure, it fills in some of the fiberglass mesh appearance as well.

The shop that painted my body (er, my Cobra's body that is ) coated the entire underside of the car with a chip-guard coating they use on the underside of street rod fenders. It's very similar to the bedliner material. It has a texture and is very hard.

In addition, I masked off and sprayed the areas in direct line with the tire treads with a soft undercoating to give some cushion in the event of a rock strike.

So far, I have no damage at all from stones.

Later,
