this is on a 289. right ? I use the M1-301 on my 289. No issues for the past 9 years. Don't know about the#204 filter, why use it instead of the larger 301 ? If the engine bay is too small to accommodate a M1-301, I would use a remote filter set-up so I could use a decent sized oil filter. Well worth the effort.
