RPM Air Gap manifold/Holley hood clearance
Like others I have minimal hood clearance on my SB Ford 427 in my Hurricane. I use a K&N 9" extreme air filter with a 2" K&N filter. My solution was to sandwich the base between 1/4 inch steel plates on a hydraulic press and drive the 5.125"base up into the 9" base until the 9" section barely clears the float adjustment screws on my 780 CFM Holley. There is a minimal amount of wrinkling in the 5.125 section of the base which is invisible with everything in place. The intake is an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap.
