i might have forgot to reset some numbers when pk and avg dropped, probably had the lsa too tight. i did do a comparison using 3700-6150 range and the comp and ec cam were similar, with the mj cam besting both. guess it comes down to preference including driving habits.

For a street car, if you can find a cam that will give excellent average power and great peak power both, then you've stumbled onto something. Overlap is of course important because you don't want reversion, and on a lower rpm engine where the exhaust can't scavenge the intake efficiently, it makes things twice as bad.

I've found that a tighter split with advanced cam timing really increases throttle response as well as gets rid of some of that lower rpm inefficiency.

What's the advertised durations on the cam that you have ordered?

So Brent, do you install your street-biased cams +2 or 4 degrees to move power to the lower end?

Too many variables to answer that I think....depends on what the guy wants from the motor and what he's able to tolerate. A lot of my stuff is usually advanced 4 to 6 degrees though.
