Show me your Valve Covers
Having a difficult time finding plain steel valve covers to work with roller rockers and Weber IDFs.
If it's not the rockers hitting the baffles... it's the accelerator pump shaft/rod hitting the valve cover...
What's everyone using with this setup?

I'm using the breather in the timing chain housing. There are many options as far as ventilating your engine you just have to be creative i.e. venting through the intake into the lifter gallery. I'm sure most valve cover will clear 1.6 ratio rockers but you might have interference with the larger ratio rockers. What type are you using?

Thanks for the purchase recommendations. I ordered the Cobra valve cover decals for my 289 FIA today. I see some of you adhere the whole decal and others separate the COBRA part of it from the remainder of the decal which some 289 Comp cars did in there day.

The IDAs & manifold are set up differently and offer more real estate between the carbs & covers.
I’m using Scorpion 1.6 rockers.

Thanks for the link & the advice. Spacers under the carbs would solve the accelerator rod hitting the valve covers but create a hood clearance issue. I’m thinking of adding ¾” reliefs where the rods hit the cover so tall stamped steel may be the best option since I’ll need to weld. Weber setup was purchased used a while back. I must have some odd ball manifold…

A switch to Comp Cams stainless steel roller rockers will fix your problem, maybe not I thought the issue was the rockers hitting the covers. Looks like you will be working in uncharted territory.
