I see 240-250 in my car fairly regularly. I have had my car for almost 10 years and 20,000 miles. I had to have my engine rebuilt a couple years ago, because a buddy missed a shift and broke a piston! Doh 
When they disassembled the engine there was virtually no wear to anything, except the one piston broke on the second land. Thankfully I have Lentz rods and other great stuff in my motor, so the damage was minimal.
Bottom line, when it comes to oil temp I truly believe not enough temp is way worse than high temps. |
