My opinion? If you want a car for a daily driver, a Coyote engine sounds ideal (and at least it's a Ford engine), but if it's a weekend car and won't often be stuck in traffic, go with something that has a lot more character.
Back to the IM240 test....it's a real advantage if the engine in your car just needs a tick on the compliance engineer's sheet rather than having to go through the testing.....and that brings us back to the Coyote.
Another comment....don't lose sight of the fact that almost any engine will feel quite powerful in a car as light as a Cobra replica. I wouldn't get too hung up on horsepower and torque figures.
Cheers,
Glen

The Aluminator is their over the counter crate HP motor and from memory it's around or a little more than 500 HP. Someone said they are big - that's true. I think they are wider than a Boss 429. Getting one of them under a Cobra hood must be a chore but I know they are doing it.

I had a coyote in my spf, it is a world of difference with a 550tq Windsor, they are both great engines, but when the coyote makes 100tq less its significant...

It's been said before, but: "People like torque, but they buy horsepower."
I have rarely been asked "how much torque does it make?" No, the question is almost always "how much horsepower?"

Very true, but if the engine makes 500 plus tq their is a good chance the hp numbers are greater, tq wins races hp sells cars...
