				 AFR 205 Heads
My new 427W engine from (Keith) Craft Performance Engines came with these heads, and there are two exhaust flange mounting holes. Inner holes 2" apart, and outer 3" apart.
I'd rather use the outer holes so the header tubes won't have to be crimped in because the bolts are so close. But I've found the outer holes are shallower, about 5/16" deep vs. the inner holes at 1/2" deep. The bolt size is 3/8".

The AFR flange bolts I have are 1" under the head and they bottom out on the outer holes.

I worry about the shallower holes having to support the weight of the header and sidepipes... Has anyone else tackled this dilemma?
