No....both 5 and 6 bolt blocks were used.

And BTW, I said "period correct", not numbers matching. A factory 289 block would be more "correct" than a 302 or a 351.

to be period correct an automatic transmission should be used with a 6-bolt 289 😉

Yes sir, that is a true statement.

But yet again, the term "period correct" was never meant to be examined with a microscope....

It'd be hard to "restamp" a cast number into a block......

This one has a C5 engineering number but has a 1967 date code.
