Some water pump talk, including electric.
So, I already had on hand one Edelbrock #8843 water pump ($284.00 online) and I came across a question here regarding a Weiand #8210 that another member was looking to replace. Did a quick search and came up with several options, most being north of $350.00, but Newegg listed it at $184.00, so i went ahead and ordered it. It arrived 3 days later. This thread starter lacks an attachment option. Photos forthcoming. Pressing question in the thread opener is, are ELECTRIC water pumps on street driven engines a high performance, highway-driven option? Back when I was young, I had a water pump failure in a 340 mopar at over 6000 rpm and somewhere around illegal speed. TERRIFYING. I have been suspect of ALL water pumps since then.
