Keep this in mind...

All 289 and early 302s have 28 ounces imbalance while late 302 have 50 ounces.

The real sneaky approach is to use a special balancer that looks like a 289 ... NPD sells them. With that you would only need an early front cover to make the 289 illusion perfect.
