Default 289 block color?

I was wondering what color the FIA cars had their 289 Ford blocks painted? Was it for blue? or different?

Question

Kris,

When did they change to the blue block ? I have an original 1965 Comet with the original 289 and it is black. I have heard in mid 1965 and also not until 1966.

Thanks,

Ron

Any questions like this on small block Fords can be found in Bob Mannel's book about 62-69 Small Blocks. Contact Bob at
bobmannel@compuserve.com He doesn't have a web page.

If you have never seen this book, you're missing something. You won't be disappointed.
