Converting a 351 to 302 oil pan?

Converting a 351 to 302 oil pan?

I have this really great Aviad road race pan for a 351 but I am planning a 331 for my new Coupe project. It looks to me that the only real difference is the rear seal area of the pan, the 351 is slightly larger than the 302, with the front being the same.

It seems that it would be real simple to cut up a old 302 pan and weld the back part onto the 351 pan......?

Or does anyone want to trade?
