You should be OK with a Carter pump as long as it is not the High Pressure (race?) one. Standard 6lb will be fine without a regulator. -6 hose will work, that is about 3/8" in laymans terms, which is what many of the big block production cars used. If you start actually racing or increasing engine output you will need to step up to 7/16" or 1/2" line from the tank to the fuel pump. An may need to increase pump size too.
