Default Distributor hight problems on a 351C!

Dear all Cleveland drivers,

after some spare part problems (holley dropped the ignition line some years before) i decided to change from a Holley Annihilitor mag-type billet distributor to a MSD mag-type #8577.

Now......the new perfect MSD distributor(8.39) is about 1.38 higher as the Holley(7.01) was.
I cant close the hood. Shame on me that i didn't checked that before ordering the parts.

1st question:
Does anybody know if the spyder type cap #8541 together with the rotor #8567 and rotorbase #8568# will work on my distributor and how much lower can i get with it?

I need to come down about 1.3 inches !!!!!!!!!!!

2nd question:
What is the hight of a Mallory S/S 32 series distributor, #3256711, measured from underside flange(interface to engine) to top of the brass terminals?

Mallory tech service put me on hold, after 20 minutes i gave up wasting telefon costs(calling from Germany).

3rd question:
Is any other reliable billet distributor(should have ball bearing in upper position) on the market with a hight not more then 7 inches??

I could even change to a locked-out, mag-type distributor, a adjustable timing computer together with a MSD Digital 6 is availlable.

Please help out with dimensions if possible, the season has started!!!!!!!!!!!

Very best regards,
Uwe

Uwe,
Try your questions at www.network54.com/Forum/119419/. That is
the Cleveland engine forum. Those guys know Clevelands and probably
can do the measuring that you requested. I feel your pain! Sorry, don't
have what you need. Have a Mallory unilite on my motor but not the
model you are requesting. Good luck finding an answer.
Bob T.
