Hi Westcott:

I used to race a Cleveland in my Cobra before I switched to the FE. I like the Clevelands and you can get them to wind up really fast with the right heads. I can't see the scratches in your cyclinders although the cross hatch on the walls looks good. If the scratches are vertical in the cylinder then i wouldn't pay any attention to them. You would be shocked if you saw the way they come from the factory; especially GM blocks. If you have a close up of the cylinder i would lke to to see it. I will email you pictures of successful motor with scores and pits in the cylinders. Contrary to the old grandfather tales; it's no big deal as long as they are vertical.

Westcott; i would like to ask you some questions about Germany. My parents are from Solingen and have both recently died. I will send you a PM, so please check your mail box later .

If i can be of any help to you getting 351C parts, please let me know. I just sold a 9 second 351C motor; Boss 302 heads; Weiand Tunnel Ram and twin 850 double pumpers last week. It was in a 1964 Falcon but we are putting a 427FE in it this summer. I have a racing friend that we share the car together which makes it a little easier and safer. All it takes is money and time to keep it going.

Regards,

Bernd
