Cool Combustion chamber

Hi All,
Does anyone have the table of combustion chamber cc's for specific SB heads? Specificly 78 2bbl 302 in a mustangII and 74 2bbl 351W from a Montego. both have auto trans behind them. How much would it drop the compression ratio to put the 351 heads on the 302? That used to be an old school type upgrade, but if it drops the compression ratio too low it is a waste of time. But the 351 heads do "FLOW".

These might be of assistance...

If you're looking for cheap heads that flow better maybe look for some GT40P heads while you're in the 'poverty stricken due to build costs phase' - these two links have some tables and other info that you may find informative:

http://www.stangpro.com/html/project...one-intro.html

Some serious builders I've spoke too just about choke if you mention the GT40Ps & others think that they're fine for most applications. However, if you're able to afford them a nice aftermarket set can make a significant difference to potential flow and HP - you can see some #s in the site below:

http://www.bacomatic.org/~dw/fordhead/fordhead.htm

As is pointed out often - the comination of what you're doing/want/can afford will guide your decision, heads/cam/carb & manifold should be complimentary.

Good luck
