Can anyone date the production year for my 351W engine in my Backdraft. The engine was built by the Engine Factory. The casting # on the engine block is E4AE-6015-FA-7.

E4-- is 1984, but that just means its at least 1984 or later. Im not sure ,but the -7 at the end may help further define this if it is a revision number. Have a look for any tags or numbers such as E6 , E8 etc on other components ( dizzy- coil-alternator-starter etc ) that were/are part of the original engine, the latest number you find would be the best indicator of actual year of production/delivery. Ford used to attach an alloy tag around the coil area on the intake with this info but that is probably long gone.

JacMac,
Thanks for the reply. I only have the casting number as the engine is built up from a rebored block. So I can probably not identify it further.
