Default The Bottom Half Of My 445W

A few weeks back, I started this post to outline the cylinder heads for my 445 Windsor.

Pics of my new TFS CNC TW-R 225cc heads

I just received my new Dart Sportsman block from Keith Craft today. This is a 9.5" deck block, 4.155" bore, 2.75" mains. This block has been bored/honed, clearanced for a 4.100" stroke, and square decked to my spec.

Probe forged dished pistons will be used with Total Seal rings. I was pleased to see that these pistons only had one groove for a spirolock on each side. I hate spirolocks.

Everything is going to be taken to my balancer on Friday...hopefully I can start assembly next weekend.

I'm very pleased with the block...Keith's machinists do a great job.

Did you measure the finished sizes of your block to verify?

I see you don't have 4 bolt mains on the end caps. Is this block a lot cheaper than the full 4 bolt main block?

Good to see your not screwing around with those stock 351 blocks...POS compared to Dart and World Products.

I just received the block this evening....I will sit down and mic all the clearances before I assemble. Keith had the pistons so the block could be bored/honed to fit them. I don't expect any problems, but I always double check.

This is the Sportsman block. The Iron Eagle block has the 4-bolt caps on the ends. Yes, it's more expensive, but it has a few more goodies. This block is rated for 1200hp....so there's no worries.

I think the oil pan selection is limited with the blocks that have 4-bolt end caps.

Yes we had to mill off a corner of the rear main for oil pan clearance. I have had mine for 5 years and they were a little less expensive back then.

Good luck with your stroker.
