This is the same problem I had with the cobra. No one has mentioned the use of the vacuum gauge on the carb at idle. This is the best way to set the idle air/fuel mixture to either lean or richen it. Bumping his timing up to 40 degrees will definately hurt his power. I used the idle air/fuel mixture to get as much of the stumble out of it as possible. See ya.
