Default distributor

My cobra is 4 years old with a 351/385 ford crate engine.the distributor cap is tan in color. My question is -- Is the distributor stock and if it is,does MSD make a replacement cap? I checked the internet and could not come up with anything that resembles what I have. thanks

My ACCEL distributor was tan on the top ........MSD is red .

Ford Racing 392 crate motors early on had the Accel Distributor which would shear drive gear pins as it was a slip fit gear - They switched to MSD a couple of years ago due to that problem. MSD was a press fit gear. My old Accel sheared a pin as well and I made the switch to MSD .

Not sure about your 351/385 motor, but perhaps it is also an Accel if it is tan . A thought anyway . Bill

Robert
If the cap is tan, the following is what the early FMS crate engines used. It is a Duraspark system with a Accell cap and rotor inside
The cap is part number Accel #120404 - Summit price $46.99
The Rotor is part number A130404- and is for 59 series Ford Summit price $29.99
Hope this helps
