Default Distributor gear on MSD 8478

I have an MSD 8478 on my motor. Does anyone know if it is Comp Cams Roller cam compatible or do I need to change the gear?

Thanks

Mike

Default

Well it seems that no one wanted to touch this one. The answer from Comp is best to use a bronze, then if you call back and get another helper it's steel.. useful. Anyhow I called a few engine builders and got some input from someone here and they all said steel. So that's what did.

I have the same distributor and just installed a new Comp Cams phenolic gear on it to go with my Comp Cams steel core Hyd. Roller.
If the cam is steel core you should use the Comp Cams Phenolic, If it's iron core use the Bronze.
