Default 351w timing pointer

Ok beeing a chevy and mopar guy for so long whats the pointer for timing on this 79,351block or did mine just fall off ?duuuuuu

There were multiple pointers and locations used.

You can make your own quite easily.
Use a piece of stiff wire or fabricate it from sheet metal. Attach it to a bolt near the crank damper in a location that is easy to hit with a timing light.

Insert a piston stop in #1 cylinder. Gently rotate the crankshaft clockwise until it stops. Make a mark on the damper at your pointer.

Rotate the crankshaft counter-clockwise until it stops. Put another mark at that location on the damper.

Measure half way between the two marks and make another mark. This is top-dead-center.

Order the appropriate timing tape from Summit (or whoever) and apply it to the damper with its TDC mark exactly on your measured mark.

You now have a timing pointer that is easy to see and perfectly accurate.

HHmm I was thinking ther was a factory one on the timing case somewere it was 3 years ago when we timed it.The fluiddampner has all the degreed markings thanks for the sugestions It looks like thats the way i will go since ther was so many different timing locations, fords..

well the base 408 is a 351w so that info im serching for.Rumors? wow nope she's sitting on stands in the garage fixed the 2in crack in the rr fender from a close incounter with the wall its all painted again for now but its still for sale do you think 35k is to little we have 50k in receits I guess its watever we can get with the market now thats flooded with cars. I dont feel like I have gotten 15k out of it yet ;-) maybe after another RNG.
