Smile Old Timers Section Or Forum

HEY BRENT, YOU KNOW ME AND KNOW ALMOST EVERY OLD MEMBER OF THIS SITE. I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING A LOT AND HAVEN'T STAYED UP WITH THE SITE LIKE I USED TO. THE GROWTH AND NUMBER OF MEMBERS IS OVERWHELMING. THE NEW ADDITIONS IS A TRIBUTE TO WHAT THIS SITE MEANS AND WAS INTENDED TO DO,,,BRING SOME FOLKS TOGETHER THAT LOVED THE CARS...AND THAT CREATED THE LOVE FOR THE PEOPLE.

I MISS THE OLD DAYS AND THOUGHT MAYBE AN "OLD TIMERS SITE" MIGHT DO US OLD TIMERS SOME GOOD.

I REMEMBER WHEN GARY MORRIS TOLD ME OF THE SITE AND I CALLED DV AND TOLD HIM. SO MANY THINGS TOOK OFF IN SUCH A SHORT TIME. NEW CLUBS, NEW RELATIONSHIPS, DVSF, CONSUMER WATCH, THE LOUNGE, ETC.

WE WERE FEW AND AVID AND SMALL IN THE NUMBERS BUT GREAT OF HEART AND PASSION.

THE MORE I WATCH THE SITE NOW THE MORE I MISS SOME GOOD FRIENDS WITH GOOD INTENTIONS.

I MISS JOHN McMAHAN (SP) AND HIS DEDICATION TO FAIRNESS, ROBERT EVENS TELLING HOW HE FIT IN HIS CAR, TURK AND HIS THONG THINGIE, THE SEMKOS AND THEIR GREAT APTITUDE FOR PISSING EVERYONE OFF...FOR JUST A MOMENT, YOUR TALES OF NOT KNOWING WHICH MFG YOUR CAR WAS AND THE TALES OF WOES IN THE ENGINE AND REBUILD, SHERRY'S AND YOUR TRAVELS AND GROWING, THE DAYS OF EVERY COBRA BEING A MASTERPIECE AND NOT WHO HAS WHAT BRAND OR SB/BB, ALUMINUM OR FIBERGLASS, RIGHT FEATURES OR WRONG RIVETS.

YOU HAVE BUILT A TRULY WONDERFUL SITE AND MAYBE I AM JUST OUT OF TOUCH OR HAVEN'T POSTED ENOUGH. WITHOUT THIS SITE I WOULD NOT HAVE RACED DV IN TEXAS, TCC WOULD NOT EXIST, DVSF WOULD NOT BE HERE, MIKE BLAKE WOULD STILL BE A NAME IN A MAG, R&G WOULD STILL BE WAY SMALL, GEORGE ANDERSON WOULD HAVE MORE HAIR AND NO ONE WOULD KNOW ABOUT HIS BREAKOUT, WAYNE TURPIN WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO BUILD AN EARTH SHATTERING BIG BLOCK, WE NOW KNOW WHO RICH PICKLES IS,,, SOOOOO MUCH MORE!

HOW ABOUT A SITE OR CATAGORY THAT LETS ONLY THE OLD TIMERS IN TO TALK ABOUT OLD TIMES...NOT THE GOVERNOR ARNOLD OR WHO WEARS WHAT UNDERWEAR WHEN THEY RACE OR WHAT POLISH TO USE...BUT OLD FRIENDS AND THE ONES THAT GOT US HERE.

I THINK BEFORE ALL OF THE OLD RECORDS WERE LOST MY MEMBER NUMBER WAS 331. HOW ABOUT A CUT OFF OF THE MEMBERS UNDER 1,500.

BY THE WAY I STILL THINK COBRAS ACROSS AMERICA IS A GREAT IDEA. FOR THOSE WHO READ THIS AND DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS ABOUT... YOU CAN'T POST ON THIS NEW SITE.

JAY

Smile THANKS MIKE

YOU JUST SUPPORTED WHAT I MEAN. I HAVE ALWAYS MADE MY POSTS IN CAPS...WITHOUT THE NORMAL CHAT ROOM BS OF CAPS OR NOT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE TO READ CAPS THEN IT'S EASY...IF THE HEADER IS IN CAPS THEN DON'T READ OR REPLY

Jay, obviously not everyone knows that you and Blackjack can legally only post with ALL CAPS. It's not that you are yelling, but many are just hard of hearing.

Smile ALL CAPS

DAVID YOU KNOW MORE THAN MOST ABOUT BLACKJACK AND ME.

I ALSO THOUGHT I WOULD ADD SOME THINGS TO THIS,,,THIS SITE IS WHY BLACKJACK AND I MET, ALONG WITH MOST OF THE GASHOLES.

THE MEMORIES NEED TO BE PRESERVED SINCE WE ARE GROWING SOOOO FAST.

I MET SOME NEW COBRA OWNERS LAST NIGHT IN MISSOURI THAT DIDN'T FOLLOW THIS SITE LIKE WE DO. THEY DIDN'T REALLY KNOW ABOUT DVSF? AND REALLY WANTED TO FIND OUT.

LIKE THE TEXAS COBRA CLUB, THEY REALLY NEEDED TO KNOW THAT IT IS NOT THE CARS BUT THE PEOPLE THAT MEAN EVERYTING!

TAKE A TRIVIA TEST ON CLUB COBRA IF YOU ARE NEW AND RESEARCH BLACKJACK AND MY POSTS , WE ARE ALWAYS IN CAPS. IT IS A SPECIAL DISPENSATION THAT BRENT ALLOWS US TO DO AND ALL OF THE OF THE REGS HERE KNOW THAT.

THIS HAS BEEN MY HOME FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS AND MAYBE IT IS TIME FOR A BATHROOM RENOVATION ... PULL MY FINGER

JAY

Hey Brent, I'd like to request a very very special forum for those people who own ERA620 through ERA627. Hurry up, I'm not getting any yougner. Just kidding.

We need to let those old timers have their forum so they can talk Ol' Timer stuff. Jay, you know I'm just playing. HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Personally, I think there should be a forum for just those of us who cannot make up their minds, and have owned at least 5 Cobras from the time they signed up on this forum....................

Probably, but us oldtimers have bad memories so they'd always seem like news.

Huble is almost Hubble which is a telescope that looks into the distant past ..... that be it?

Jay - we know that you're not all that old. Old enough to have the experience lacking in the young, but young enough at heart to do it anyway !! :-) Couldn't get better than that could it?

Sue is still talking about a toter home and an enclosed trailer for the toy when we get it. She still wants the Goldwing though ;-)

We had a great time at NPR. Got some great photos and video clips and better memories of a great group of people. I've looked into your suggestion of a school and Sue wants to go as well.

We'll bring the coffee next time ya'll are over this way. Hell we'll bring it if we're out your way :-)

Might go find me a LHD stick to practise on. ;-)

regards
Doug I
