They are very big engines for their size.

Not many Cobras are running 4.6 motors yet. Yes, they are big but they are fairly light and can be made to put down gobs of horsepower. We decided to build one into our latest display car and it was well worth it. The 4.6 is a great looking motor and has a unique engine bay presents. We retail all kinds of versions of the 4.6 and 5.4 so I hope a modular forum is created here at CC. I believe they will become more popular as emission standards tighten and 5.0FI engines become scarce.

Freddi I too feel your pain. My custom cobra will have mod motor power. But that cool looking thing from turn ten is way out of my league. Just a plane jane sohc and hope fully a carb setup, want as little as possible under the bonnet. Neat and tidy is the only way. Yea, we want are own section who says engines have to be ancient to be cool. Patrick

Modular Engines
Couldn't agree with you guys more!
The Mod Motor is cool, powerful beyond my wildest hopes and feather light. The best part (visually) has to be when you open the hood (bonnet?) and get a load of that engine eye candy. A blown (I'm hooked on blown) 4 cam engine is right up there with a 427 SOHC for wow factor! They just look like an awesomely potent machine.
My target date for completion is year end. Sort of a Christmas package. Like to get it done sooner but somehow these things always take longer and cost more. Wonder who first said that? Must have been building a Cobra.
Ed

Hey, someone give us a section, Mod motors rule! I now have mine a nice old lincoln Quad Cam and a bunch of other stuff. I just had to go big. Wife said, noway can you make that huge engine fit in that little car. My reply was watch me. I'll get some pics up latter, after I get it bolted together with the tranny, a T-3650 5spd. Then lets start mocking it in the car. Ye-Ha: Patrick
PS: Suppose I should update my profile now, to include my monster mod motor.
