They come with a standard Ford/Motorcraft regulator. If you run an internal regulator alternator you take the external unit out of the circuit.

The SPF also comes with a Duraspark ignition module that you eliminate if running an MSD type system.

They make it easy either way you want to go.

Default MSD Distributor works fine with Superformance Duraspark ignition module

Its not necessary to eliminate the Duraspark module as they are fully compatible with the MSD distributor. I used the MSD Pro-Billet Small Diameter Street Ford Distributor PN 9478 for my 351W based 408 stroker motor and spliced the two wire MSD distributor connection into the existing Superformance wiring 2 wire harness for the distributor and it works fine. No MSD ignition module needed and the MSD distributor is fully compatible with the Superformance factory installed Ford Duraspark ignition module that comes pre-mounted in the passenger footwell.

You are right of course, I meant if you run a full MSD module system in lieu of the Duraspark. Poibt is, the SPF supports most any of the options available.
