Will a "street style" Fia be available ?

GP1482 07-19-2010 12:40 PM

Roger,

The pictures show the only 289 that we will be making...

mr bruce 07-19-2010 03:05 PM

That car looks just like the RiverSide Racers car, one in the same?

GP1482 07-19-2010 03:11 PM

Correct...one in the same...

marcalan 07-19-2010 06:37 PM

are the wheels 5 or 6 pin?

ROSS WEAVER 07-19-2010 08:32 PM

Did Riverside Racers license the car to Superformance?

289 fia

Although I commissioned the Hi Tech factory in South Africa to build the 289 Fia, the car was always going to be distributed through Superformance in the USA as one of their licensed products because of their reputation and dealership set up. Halfway through the build, problems arose re this arrangement, but I am now pleased to announce that Shelby Licensing have agreed that the product is worthy of their approval.
It has taken 4 years of research and daily contact with the factory to make sure that what was being done was in fact correct or acceptable given the criteria I originally supplied to the factory. At this point I must congratulate Jim,Werner,Campbell,Johan,Steve,Brett and all the others who sat for thousands of hours on Skype discussing pictures, drawings etc to make sure every little detail was correct. More can be seen at www riversideracers.com.
The wheels are 6 pin but 7.5 and 9.5 inch whereas the correct 6.5 and 8.5 are only available in Magnesium. These can be supplied but at a $5000.00 dollar premium.
This car is built strictly to original factory drawings therefore diamensionaly 100% correct. Wiring, radiator and brakes being upgraded due to availabilty
Check it out. Its just gorgeous.

Wow. This is quite a car. Not just a re-bodied Mk III by a long shot ! Was the intention of this build to be accurate enough to the original to qualify for participation in sanctioned historic races, ala the SPF GT40 ? Really quite a bold move to introduce a car like this in this economy. Here's wishing you all the best of luck and success. It's absolutely beautiful.

Has the pricing for a roller been set?

Sminor 07-20-2010 07:35 AM

I got a guided tour of this car courtesy of Ross Henry and Chic Ford during the London Show. It is absolutely the finest I've seen (I'm no expert, but I've seen a few Cobras). I sure wish I could afford another toy. One of these would be at the top of my list.:)

Ross (Riverside Racer) is being modest. The time and expense he invested to make this as "right" as possible is amazing.

The body has rolled "lips" under the frnders so it feels like the aluminum rolled over the wire used on the cars.

The warning lamps for the dash were custom made.

All new tooling was made for the uprights.

The fuel system is set up to take the extra long range tank in the trunk.....in other words this is the car from 1964 but in composite material rather than alloy.

Even the seats are different as were the units back then.

I have had a short drive in the car and it feels really neat, different than the SPF MK III. I haven't driven a 289 Cobra for some years, but this car feels like I remember!

GP1482 07-20-2010 08:40 AM

Pricing of the 289 is set...you can contact me directly if you would like additional information.

"Riverside Racer" - thank you for the detailed input. The team here at Superformance is very honored to be selling your vehicle!
