Looking For Passenger Side Roll Bar

Does anyone have one for sale? If not, where's the best place to buy one, Hillbank? I remember someone saying a new rollbar they had bought had a slight yellow tinge to the chrome and didn't match the original. Any experience or thoughts about this. I'm not sure if my rollbar is chromed or stainless steel. It's a 2005 SPF.

You are obviously a disciminating Cobra driver and have exceptionally good taste.

Remember though that you have to have the mounts for the passenger side roll bar to make it something more than cosmetic. I don't know if SPF has those built in but I had to have ERA custom fab it all for me.

I am humbled by your remarks especially coming from someone with such style.

I was told by someone 2-3 years ago that the newer model SPFs have everything in place for a straight bolt in. Is this not correct?

I don't know the answer to that, but if it's not already done then it's a slight PITA. If nobody posts an answer here then log in to the SCOF and post it there.

I'll bet you the mounts are there... Due to the RHD SPF market o/s.

You got to remember SPFs are not custom made but factory built, so this would be built into the assembly line.

The body mountings should be in place, I have a procedure for installation I can send you...

I must admit I'm getting a little misty eyed. Was that an olive branch Patrick was extending? Next stop, the Middle East!

I just showed a lady friend a picture of my Cobra. First thing she said was, "Only one rollbar?" I guess I'm not gonna be a passenger when she drives.

I was thinking of installing one too. My GF keeps bugging me "Wheres my role bar?" She some times wont ride with me because she doesn't feel safe. Al tho this might be a good thing.

FWIW, the only time/place I have ever heard a disparaging word about my two, padded roll bars is this forum right here.

Everybody else tends to like them.

Tell her the truth is, she's safer without the roll bar. On the street a rollover accident is very unlikely unless you really drive with a deathwish. The type of accidents you are likely to have involve spinning out and striking an immovable object or some other form of collision. In these cases, your head is swinging around a lot and a rollbar is just something waiting to bludgeon your skull with blunt force trauma. Roll bars are designed to work on a racetrack in conjunction with a crash helmet and other safety equipment.
Street Cobras had no rollbars. Competition models had only one because while racing, you don't often have a passenger. The modern trend of adding multiple roll bars for passengers' unprotected heads is based on misinformation.

I think Buzz is right. If it's purely a street car, driven reasonably responsibly, then either pad them or take them off. There have been more blunt force trauma incidents that I can remember than there have been flips on the street. The ERA down in Texas year before last that got flipped while showing off on a test drive comes to mind, but I don't recall the specifics of how that happened. I do remember everybody seemed to "clam up" about it after it occurred.

But a passenger side roll bar will provide a safe place to attach the shoulder harnesses on the passenger side. Much more structural than that little dinky tube running across the back.

I'm planning on designing custom headrests so as to avoid skull fractures on the roll bars.
