Default 17" Wheel Options - Ideally compatible with existing Hub / Knock-offs

I did a quick search and did not find related threads.

I have car #970 with 15" “Halibrand” style wheels w/knock offs / lock wire. Currently has BF T/A's (not the most performance oriented tires . . some would would say / have said "dangerous"). Tires are fairly new and have lots of tread left . . . I was thinking of leaving the T/A's mounted on the current 15" wheels and mount of a set of 17" with NT01's.

Here are my questions:

1. Does someone make a 17 "Halibrand" style wheel that would be comparable with my hubs/knock-offs? Would be very nice to be able to hit the knock offs, put on the alternatives set of wheels / knock offs and re lock wire. . . instead of removing the hubs the knock-offs to change wheels. I would like 17" as the tire sizes are much more plentiful, and I can go lower profile for the performance orientated set up.

2. If there isn't a way to make my current knock off / hubs work for a set of 17" wheels, I would be open to recommendations on a wheel that looks similar to the "Halibrand" style wheels but not utilize the hub / knock offs.

3. I have had good luck with Nitto's (555R's on a previous modified C5 I use to own) . . . so the NT1's seem like a reasonable choice (assuming 17") . . . I want DOT compliant as the car will be street driven. Any grave concerns about NT01's?

4. Size recommendations (tire and wheel back spacing). . . don't want to risk rubbing but certainly want to fill the wheel opening.

I welcome your council / thoughts.

Thank you.
