Default SPF Hard Top hardware

If any of you with an original SPF Hard Top for an MKIII could let me know what size and style of hardware is used to secure the back corners I would appreciate it.

Thank you!
Troy

They are unique parts. I have used regular bolts in the past.

I have used standard bolts/washers and wing nuts since 2001 on SPF 887 with the factory hardtop. I just change the hardware every couple of years to keep it looking relatively "fresh" :-)

Tighten it just enough to start to compress the seal to the body. No need to overtighten.

Mitch, those pieces look nice!

Like Jim, I've used similar hardware, the only place I differed on SPF1314 was that I cut a small rubber washer to absorb some of the bumps of going down the road.

Jim and Bill,

My top appears to have different construction at this point. Not sure what the heck to use...

Hi Troy - looks like you have probably bought a SPF. How about some pictures or did I miss them?

My SPF hardtop setup is exactly like Jim's. Looks like you could attach the rear of the top the same way (assuming the end of the bolt does not conflict with it)... with the simple nut and bolt. My car is 1202. What is yours? I wonder when your hardtop was made.

Well the answer is that I need to use a 4 inch long 3/8" bolt with a couple washers. Problem is that the bolt can only enter from underneath due to how my HT is molded and won't allow the long bolt to enter from the top without obstruction (the cutout / recessed area is too short). This recessed area is also too shallow to use a wing nut up top as there isn't enough clearance to turn it. SPO2256
