Default Would I be able to sell my soft top?

I'm selling my car and the buyer doesn't want the soft top. Is there a market for these and how much would they go for? It's in brand new condition with plastic slide door windows.
Thanks

I attempted to do the same thing several years ago. Living in Southern California, there is no need for a top.

Got offers up to $2,000 for the unused top. Decided to keep it in case I ever decided to sell the car.

Sell the car without the top — he's probably making a mistake buying it that way but hey, its his decision. Later when he realizes the dumb mistake and comes back for a deal price on the hard top, all the leverage is on your side of the deal. At that point the price is simply how much pain you want to inflict for his arbitrary rejection when he could have had it for a song.

The experience brings considerable satisfaction. The higher his idiot index, the higher the price and your personal satisfaction.

All in all, a very good experience ...

Soft top, not hard top.

Sure there's a market for a complete soft top.
I would guess at least $1,000 easy.

You may want to check with one of the Superformance dealers to check. I seem to recall someone else asking a question last year about purchasing a used top and being told that each one is individually fit at the factory and the lift tabs may not line up correctly. There still may be a market for it, not sure that it would be in the $2000 range.

See what SPF sells them for and base it on that, a make offer price never hurts either, you can always turn it down...

I recall that as well, but I'm not 100% sure it was an SPF thread. It might well have been an ERA thread. But I bet the same rules apply.

The top/tonneau pins on an SPF are fit via a jig and are the same. They do vary based on the chassis number and the type of top (single window or three window) but will interchange amongst similar batches.

The real world price for a complete top assembly in "as-new" shape is upwards of $1500.
TN Shelby Cobra likes this.

There is a vinyl top and a canvas top design. I don't see a car number to determine which kind you have. There are also 2 different pins on the newer canvas top, easily replaced, but you would also need to fix your tonneau cover if you go to the newer style top. Side curtains are another story. They are pretty much fit to each car. The window rakes may also vary a bit from new to old design on the side curtains. All fixable issues, so don't plan to just swap the tops and go.

I'm interested in buying a soft top if anyone has one for sale.
