Anyone Have GASN Side Pipes on their Cobra?
Does anyone have the side pipes made by GASN on their Cobra? If so, do you like the looks? Quality? Sound? Trying to decide between buying new polished stainless steel ones from GASN and selling my black coated ones, or getting my black ones power coated.
Thanks

I had them and they are truly a great product. Not only do they look beautiful, the sound is perfect IMHO.

Red Shark Engineering, California, original supplier to Shelby American in the 60's, still in business today. They did my sidepipes a few years ago for my CSX4000 alloy car, they did euro pipes for my car, not quite as loud. They still make them just like the originals from the 60's. Good luck.

I installed a set of 2-1/2" GASN side pipes earlier this year and am very pleased with the construction quality, brilliant shine and deeper but maybe quieter at lower RPMs. Georgie was very easy to deal with and definitely customer oriented.... good communications. Good luck with your decision.

Gas-N Side Pipes (on Superformance)
Very Nice, a bit quieter at first but i probably have 25K miles on mine they do get louder with time.
Love the two tone look of the stainless, turns gold up front where hot, fit and finish is second to none.
Only complaint is the rear hanger, very agricultural piece, welds broken there several times, have had to re-weld, more of an annoyance than anything, pipes just wiggle a bit more when they go...
The rear bracket for a FFR looks much more "thought out"...
THOUGHT: Maybe we can get "Georgie" to fab something better if you threaten to buy some? Bugged him a couple times about this subject.

What was the cost of Shark Engineering Pipes? How is the finish on the polished stainless? Thanks

They do look beautiful. Did you have to use spacers to get them away from the car? Do you recommend heat shields? Thanks

The cost was $800.00, and they are jet hot coated in semi-gloss black, which was an additional $300.00. Hope this helps.

Here is another thread on side pipes. My car came with Red Shark, the previous owner bought them, just under $2000 for headers and pipes. Mine are flat black.

Thanks everyone for the response. I'm leaning toward the GAS N polished SS ones. If anyone is interested in purchasing my used black ones, let me know. My car and these pipes have a little more than 7k miles on them.

Here are some pictures. They do discolor but you can paint them with high heat black paint, or get them power coated. Make me a fair offer.

Before doing anything, you better be sure the flange that connects to the heads are the correct version for your engine 8ball or else you bought paperweights.
Might also want to hear a video of them idling to be sure the baffles are still in place. Not sure what chassis number car they are coming off of, but get some detailed photos of where the pipes are joining as they exit the body. They tend to deteriorate there over time. And get some photos of the headers as they connect to the heads. Shipping is going to cost big too.

Thanks 8ball. Replacing the pipes will be a winter project as it will take about 6 weeks for the new ones to be made. The pipes only have 7,000 miles on them and the baffles are still in place. There is no deterioration. I will take a video of the pipes running before I take them off and will also send you whatever pictures you want to ensure the pipes will fit. Like I said, I am not doing this for a couple months and if you change your mind by then, no problem. I will give you the first shot as someone else PM'd me after you expressed interest.
