Default tonneau cover?

Hi all,

I am looking at a pre-owned Superformance Cobra that does not have a tonneau cover with it.

Do you know if I could buy one from Superformance or someplace else? Do you think a local canvas/convertible shop could make one? The Cobra was built in 2005.

I live in michigan and I think one would be handy to carry on the car or possibly use on cooler days or if I get caught in the rain to keep some of the water out of the car.

Thanks,
Ray

Hello Ray,
Used Tonneau covers periodically come up for sale on eBay and on Club Cobra.
You could also go to a local automotive interior shop and have one made. There are two different versions of the cover, difference being two fasteners that differ but can be modified (replaced) quite easily. Depending on the car number the style of Convertible Top dictates which cover you need. They all fit and the factory covers are of very high quality.
Feel free to contact me with questions. There is a thread here on CC someplace too that covers the things to look into when purchasing a used cobra with a few specific things to check if it’s a Superformance. Nothing I consider game-changers just things to be aware of, like the age of the Tires, Rear shock mounts, and dead bodies in the trunk....

There's one on Offer up in Phoenix, way over priced IMO.

Thanks Blas & DWRAT,

It turns out that the car I am looking at has a Tonnaeu cover. The owner did not realize it had one. It was with the convertible top and he has never opened it up or really looked at it.

That’s perfect... new in the bag.
Send me your email and I’ll send a list of things you should consider checking/doing if/when you get the car.
