Default Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix 2023

I had a nice weekend at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, which happened to coincide with SAAC. Lot of nice cars. It was the first time that I have had good weather for a race weekend in a couple of years, so had to work some dust off. Had some electrical problems the first day that took 3 hours to fix, but was able to get the car back on the track thanks to Ross, Rick and Gregg.

Had a real nice day on Saturday and managed to drop a lot of time off of my lap times from the prior day. On the second race I was sitting behind a few 240Z's that were running 1-2 seconds faster than me and I used them as rabbits and dropped 2 seconds off my time. They pulled away for a little bit due to me coming in too hard to the hairpin turn prior to the front straight and ending up with a bad line through the corner. However, I was able to reel them in later, but not enough to get past them. They seem farther away in the video than they really were.

Please excuse the sound, there is a lot of wind noise. I am going to have to see if I can get a remote microphone for it and hide it down low. It was a hot and humid weekend and by the end I was thoroughly drained. Great time and I cannot wait for the Glen in September, I feel like I will be ready for a good race.

Great run Jim , MUCH better with you using more of the FIA curbing. Hands on the "Wheel" is now correct. Smooth is FAST. Jim, when following "Use the lead cars air" always stay tucked in behind him, trust me that's free air he's giving you to use, it does make a Diffenence . The only other suggestion, use ALL of the track, let the car flow to the edge of the track. Call me if you'd like, Cheers Tom.

Yep, need to get into the pedal a little earlier and trust the brakes more. They seemed to be a little more consistent, so I will be able to go deeper before braking. Watkins Glen is a much faster track, I was not able to get out of third gear at Pitt Race. Tried it twice one the back straight and it was not worth the time having to down shift twice before the hairpin turn.
