Terry,
When you ordered from Stainless Specialties, did the sidepipes come ready to bolt up to your SPF? Also, I've heard that polished ones run hotter than ceramic coated ones. Any paint problems from the heat?

Jim:
Bolted right on. No apparent heat problems. Did have to drop the right motor mount a little bit but it was not a big issue. I think my out the door price was around $2500 but I ordered some extreme heat shields which extend from in front of the mufflers to within 6" of the exhaust tip. I believe their pipes alone price is under $2000.
I couldn't be more pleased with the exception of the tip being very slightly tipped down. Not a problem visually but it does scatter gravel, dirt, leaves, etc !

Jim:
You will also have to attach the rear mounts to the muffler/pipe to connect to the frame. I had my local welder use the original brackets and weld them on after the pipes were mounted.
You should also consider having O2 sensors installed by the pipe manufacturer. Makes it much more efficient when you go to the dyno or use an O2 meter. I think about $25 ea. I think they take an 18mm pipe plug when not in use.
Just some thoughts.......

Terry, did you have to lower the engine mount to install the sidepipes or did you have to lower and leave it lowered to fit??

I like mine from www.buckshotracefab.com
Here they are with 17 inch wheels on the car.
Here's how they look in motion with 2100 ft air.
Buckshot Racefab side pipes in motion
Here's a recent dyno chart
475.3 wheel HP
If you get some I should mention the new pipes required an additional 3 jet sizes up primary and secondary to maintain the same air fuel ratio as the Superformance side pipes.

Mel:
I had to leave it lowered. It was only one side and it was the beefier Olthoff replacement.
I understand the Stainless Steel Specialties drop the tips very slightly to focus the increased sound away from the driver/passenger.
Hope that helps.

I have the removable muffler section. The muffler type referenced by the builder was 3" though it would be difficult to measure an exact internal dimension given there are rows of louvers inside. The internal louvers point forward, no packing. I like the turn out to be level to ground, but if you wanted you could point them around in alternate directions.
I can tell you for certain the Buckshot Racefab side pipes are faster and they are louder. I don't think it's possible to use the word "best" for anything under the sun, though I'm satisfied with the product and I'm very picky and analytical.
I took a number of months to thoroughly understand the impact of the side pipes from many perspectives. For testing I used corrected numbers from load bearing dyno, inertia dyno, G-tech Pro Competition with computer acquisition software and trap speed corrected to sea level for comparison between the Superformance and Buckshot Racefab.
