enjoy the cobra, it will be a nice addition to your collection. I am considering a turbo porsche, how does it compare to the GT2?

entdoc, are you considerin a 997 T ? it's the best daily supercar there is. massive power (little turbo lag) and incredible traction. it is a fantastic car. what i also like very much is that it's not too flashy and blends-in quite nice.

the 997 GT2 otoh is manic. even despite only having 50 horses more than the turbo it feels massively more aggressive due to it being rwd only. it's a monster. i truly love that car. it's not a daily driver though. the tires being the greatest limiting factor Michelin Pilot Cup.

yes, I have been looking at them for a while. they seem to be the best bargain in cars right now here in the states. 2001-2003 models can be had for 42-55K all day long, depending largely on mileage. That is a lot of car for the price of a good cobra roller. I love the GT2's, but the premium over the Turbo does not seem justifiable. Good 2001-2002 models are around 90K.

i see you are talkin 996 as the 997 turbo came out 2 years ago and the 997 gt2 is a 2008. i doubt you would find a 997 turbo below 100k and the 997 gt2 commands 200+. not many of these around and some dealers ask hefty premiums.

you will be more than happy with the turbo. surely the 997 is quite a bit more adbanced than the 996. the gt2 in either iteration is surely overkill and very focused.

i am a bit of a porsche nut, so any help i can give, just ask.....

certainly the 997 cars are great, but like I said, for the money right now the 996 cars are hard to beat. thanks for the help. chuck
